MATHS TUITION
A lot of the parents call us here at Inspire Tuition because their children need support with maths.
If as a parent you feel powerless when it comes to helping your child with maths, trust me, you are not alone. Perhaps you didn’t enjoy the subject at school yourself and lack the confidence to help, or maybe the way it is taught in school now is so very different from the way you were taught in school you are worried about confusing your child.
Let us lend a helping hand. All of our maths tutors are qualified teachers and we have maths tuition programmes that will work for all ages and all abilities.

Primary School Maths Tuition
It really is important to nurture your child’s self belief in maths at a young age. A lot of primary school children feel a real sense of panic when you mention maths. When parents bring young children in to get help from our maths tutors our first job is to take this panic away. We do this by writing an individual plan for your child based on the initial assessment. We use a variety of resources, paper and pen, computer and hands on games to motivate and support our youngsters. Because the activities are completely tailored to each individual child, we get lots of wonderful ‘light-bulb’ moments and we literally get children high-fiving us and skipping down the stairs at the end of the session because they are so proud of themselves. How cool is that?Transition to High School
The transition to high school is massive for most children. The dreaded ‘algebra’ appears and the pace of maths can be quite daunting. Most schools set or band their children for maths either during Year 7, or at the start of Year 8. If you want to give your child some support to ensure they end up in the set that is right for them, we are only a phone-call away. Our maths tuition is truly unique because we take a two pronged approach: we support them to fill in the gaps in their learning, whilst simultaneously working on the topics being covered in school. This ensures that they are ready and confident when assessments occur in school.

GCSE Maths Tuition
It’s all changed! As a result of a Welsh Government review, all children will now be sitting two GCSEs in Mathematics: GCSE Maths – Numeracy and GCSE Maths. Maths counts TWICE now. So, it has never been more important to give your child the best possible chance of success. We work tirelessly to support our GCSE students and give them lots of sample GCSE style questions plus plenty of past paper practice. These are always thoroughly marked by Kerry (an ex-GCSE maths examiner) and gone through with each student individually.

A Level Maths Tuition
Many students who’ve done well at GCSE Maths find the jump to A-level overwhelming. Algebraic skills really are the key. You can forget about ‘shape and space’. You need to solve simultaneous equations; to factorise, use the quadratic formula and complete the square. Many students underestimate the demands of the course and become disheartened midway through Year 12. Don’t give up, work on those algebraic skills, and if you need a bit of individualised support and a confidence boost, do consider giving us a call to ask about our GCSE Maths Tuition programmes or pop in for a coffee and a chat.
